SCD SouthWest Ltd have joined forces with the Treatment Room team at Access Sports Online to promote coaching and  development across all our focus sports around the world.

To help us in this area, their Managing Director and Ex England Rugby Union Head Coach Brian Ashton MBE. will be giving us exclusive access to his 2009 diary. Giving an insight to his coaching experiences around the world.

Brian Ashton Online web.jpgBrian has just left the UK this week to start working with Murray Mexted in the International Rugby Academy of New Zealand, operating in New Zealand, South Africa and America. Then, he will look to build relationships within the world of business.

We will let you know how he gets on and any discoveries he makes over the coming weeks and months.

2009 will also see Brian's new academy in France which will operate throughout August.

Brian's background:

A Lancastrian born in Leigh, went to school in Leigh and Lancaster before studying History and Education at Leicester University. He went on to become a teacher and then rugby coach after a playing career which included an England touring side selection.sport-ashton_374151a.jpg

Brian coached Bath Rugby between 1989 and 1997 making them the most successful team in England during that period.  He also coached Ireland before moving on to an assistant role with England before becoming the England National Academy Manager from 2002 - 2007.

Brian was made England Rugby head Coach in 2007 and had the country on the edge of it's seat when he led his England to the final of the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

After a hugely successful playing and coaching career in the sport, Brian's achievements were officially recognised when he was awarded the MBE.

Brian has now set up a new company SCD SouthWest Ltd, offering high-level performance processes, currently working across many sports and also offering insights in to leadership and personal development within the business world.
